The Pool Tiger technology, which is present in both residential and commercial units, has also been adapted for spas and ponds.

The SpaTiger with 32 American connection and maximum flow rate of 3 m3/h is a miniaturized version of the Pool Tiger, reduced in size to facilitate engineering and retrofitting, but powerful enough to easily exceed sanitation and spa improvement standards.

It can be placed in by-pass, in-line and, if more flow is needed, in parallel.

how does SpaTiger work?

Pool Tiger has been designed to take advantage of a totally natural process known as Hydrodynamic Cavitation. In our device, this process relies solely on the flow of water driven by the pool pump.

Constructed of durable thermoplastic, Pool Tiger has no moving parts. It requires no electricity and contains no cartridges or other components that need to be replaced.

what is hydrodynamic cavitation?

Hydrodynamic cavitation is a phenomenon that occurs when vapor bubbles or cavities in a liquid are generated and collapse due to rapid changes in pressure. In the case of hydrodynamic cavitators used in swimming pools, the objective is to take advantage of this phenomenon to improve circulation and water quality.

what are the effects of hydrodynamic cavitation?

The effects of cavitation have been known for over a hundred years, but only recently has this phenomenon been harnessed to provide several important advantages.

Cavitation in our device occurs when water is accelerated inside the device's nozzle. This acceleration reduces the water pressure below the vapor point, resulting in the formation of small vapor bubbles. When the vapor bubbles exit the nozzle, the surrounding water pressure causes them to collapse rapidly and return to their liquid state.

This rapid change in the states of matter of the water creates:

- High levels of infrared energy (heat).
- Intense shock waves.

These factors are sufficient to:

- Oxidize and destroy exposed contaminants, which improves sanitation and reduces the need for chemical treatments.
- Initiate gradual breakdown of acids - this raises pH and removes excessive cyanuric levels.
- Change the polarity of suspended particles, causing them to agglomerate to a size where they are easily captured by the filter - this clarifies the water and creates a more attractive bathing environment.
- Affect the bonds between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms that make up water molecules - this produces a phenomenon known as "structured water."

It is important to note that the heat produced by cavitation is rapidly absorbed by the surrounding water. Therefore, it does not increase the temperature of the pool appreciably.

When chlorine comes in contact with water it first oxidizes organic matter and metals. The second step is to destroy combined chlorine and what remains is free chlorine. Pool Tiger eliminates the two previous steps by destroying organic matter and combined chlorine. This makes your pool's chlorine demand much lower and, with the addition of a little chlorine, it becomes free chlorine.

what chemicals will I not use if I have SpaTiger installed?

- Clarifiers: ammonium chloride, chitosan, enzymes, polyacrylamides, aluminum sulfate (also known as "alum").
- pH boosters: sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate.
- Descalers: solvents, vinegar, bleach, pumice.
- Sequestrants: prevent metal particles in the pool from staining the walls.
